Food Trucks

I thought it might be fitting to follow up the Foster Huntington article with another use for everyday vehicles, namely: Food Trucks.  Foster Huntington lives by the words “home is where you park it”. Others may live by the words; business is where you park it. This can’t be truer than in the food truck industry. Take a look at these.

Pretty cool hey, thankfully there are guys in Cape Town that are trying to bring us something similar. Cape Town Food Trucks want to bring good food to the best spots in Cape Town. And that is what they are doing. The first addition to their fleet is owned by Luca Castiglione: chef and owner of Italian restaurant, Limoncello. If you’re interested the Limoncello Food Truck can often be found at the Oudekraal Market between Llududno and Camps Bay. Check out their truck in operation

For most of us the formula of good food + amazing scenery is a no-brainer, so I struggle to see why Food Trucks are not more prevalent around the Cape.  The writing is on the wall though and others are testing the waters.  Check out El Burro’s and Lady Bonins Tea Parlor.

The idea is still young, so it’s going to be interesting to see who comes up with what next. In light of these last two articles I saw it fitting to write this “where I park it”, wouldn’t mind having this as my office one day.
